Carbon "Cap & Traitors" II

John Boehner may be the last member of Congress with a dose of common sense.

When asked why he read portions of the cap-and-trade bill on the floor Friday night, Boehner told The Hill, “Hey, people deserve to know what’s in this pile of s–t.”
People worried about the “death of the GOP’ did so with the belief that the economy wasn’t the overall factor in the last election and that Democrats would somehow govern competently. In five months, they’ve cranked in record spending and already violated Barack Obama’s “tax” promise to the tune of a few grand per household. Obama’s popular, which is fine when dealing with the cult of personality that is the media and politics. But the left is handing over issue by issue and voting against popular opinion nearly down the line in policy. Does this mean the GOP can’t screw this up? No, just look at Mark Sanford. But no one should expect the Democrats to be any better.

Even though Sen. Majorty Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) holds the bill’s fate in his hands, House Republicans intend to hammer Speaker Pelosi’s signature climate-change measure over recess.

And GOP Conference Chairman Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.) said “we have only just begun to fight” as he left the Capitol Friday night.

Pence encouraged GOP rank-and-file lawmakers to hold energy summits in their districts over the Independence Day recess. In the recess packets sent home with members, he even included directions on how to organize energy summits.

The goal of holding an energy forum is to “educate your constituents about the Democrats’ national energy tax legislation and let them know what ‘all of the above’ solution you support.”

“All of the above” solution is a reference to the Republicans’ plan that would increase the use of and exploration for domestic energy supplies.
If Democrats voted to drill ANWR and offshore, it would sink gas prices by a buck in a day. They won’t. Meanwhile, the party is taking more and more money out of pockets during a recession, a disastrous and near suicidal practice. If Obama’s lost Warren Buffett, how long before he loses Joe Paycheck?

At least one Democrat has major reservations about the bill passing. Pelosi had to whip several reps into voting Yea, all for a bill that will probably never see the light of day.

Further, officials with the House GOP’s campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee, confirm that they will run with paid media over recess in districts of conservative Dems who voted for the bill. The official would not reveal details on the ad buys at this time.

One Democrat was upset that his leaders would needlessly force vulnerable Dems to vote for a bill that will come back to haunt them. Mississippi Rep. Gene Taylor (D) voted against the measure that he says will die in the Senate.

“A lot of people walked the plank on a bill that will never become law,” Taylor told The Hill after the gavel came down.

An Ode to Men and Fathers

To those those rabid feminists who feel men and fathers to be irrelevant–morons and incompetents to be trained like pets–I say this in defense of better men than myself.

You’ve never stayed up thirty hours straight in hundred and twenty degree heat, having mortar shells dropped on your head or having your ear drums blown out by an IED. You’ve never had a your flesh torn, bones shattered, or body burned by bullets and bombs. You’ve never held a friend in your arms as he bled to death. You’ve never been cold and alone, pinned down by enemy fire. You’ve never seen innocent women and children turned into pieces of meat by explosives. You’ve never had young men under your command–boys you loved like sons–be shipped home in a pine box while you had to write a letter or knock a door to tell their wife he isn’t among the living anymore.

You’ve never put on suffocating protective equipment to run into a burning building to save total strangers. You’ve never had tons of wood and masonry drop on your head. You’ve never had friends that you worked with burn alive while you could do nothing about it. You’ve never had third degree burns over sixty or seventy percent of your body, losing vision in an eye, most of your fingers, leaving you looking like the walking dead, and in constant pain for the rest of your life.

You’ve never had your partner die on you, bleeding to death in an ER because of shotgun blast to the chest. You’ve had an enraged drug addict smash you over the head and arms with a pipe, shattering bones with searing pain. You’ve never had a routine traffic stop turn into a fight for your life by your being shot at with an automatic weapon. You’ve never had to hold vigil over a corpse while the forensics team arrived, wondering who that young child was or what his parents were feeling. You’ve never had to stand outside a house while a crazed gunmen held people hostage. You’ve never had to seethe with anger and frustration at another killing going unsolved because of type-lipped witnesses.

You’ve never jumped from a hundred feet into freezing water in the middle of a storm, with waves crashing on your head, to save people you don’t know, risking drowning and hypothermia, and still losing people who you could’ve saved if you only arrived a few minutes earlier. You’ve never desperately administered CPR to get a person’s heart started, hoping against hope that you can get the slightest indication of a thready pulse and a puff of breath.

You’ve never had to go abroad for months at a time, to the ass end of nowhere, face evil head on, see friends die left and right, and never tell your family what you do. You can never express your anger or fears. You can never tell your kids why you’re gone so much. You never let the horrors that you’ve seen out of the cage you’ve built in your psyche.

You’ve never sat alone in the dark, with bottle in your hand, sobbing like a child over the things you’ve witnessed, making sure your family or friends don’t see you cry. Even if you wanted to tell them, you never could, because they wouldn’t have a point of reference for the life that you’ve lived.

You’ve never come home and snatched up your little ones in your arms, hoping in vain that they never have to see the horrible things you protect them from.

You’ve never toiled away on a construction site or had your career hang on that one multi-million dollar deal, working 16-20 days, hardly able to see your kids. You’ve never had a wife complain about you not doing more around the house, when you’re worried whether you’re going to have a job tomorrow.

Have you ever seen a strong man cry? It’s like the cracking of the world, when they sink to their knees and their shoulders quake as the sobs are torn from their throats. They save their tears for the times when that’s all there is left to do. Men do feel, but they stand firm and take the punishment to protect their loved ones.

It’s women with mindset like yours that used the courts as a cudgel to bludgeon their way into police academies, military colleges and firefighter schools, demanding a lowering of standards, never earning their way in, and still failing. For those that did make it, they wanted to be treated like one of the boys, but then get offended when they aren’t respected as a woman. Those women who did earn their keep by doing their job got the respect they deserved, because the men around them knew they were squared away and had their back. But those women are exceptional people, who respect the men they work with and who’ve also generally put off having families.

And if you’re wondering, more than few men have stayed home and raised their children, some of them single fathers raising their kids when the mother has walked off. But women tend to have a specific nature and talent for that life.

Women are not men. Men are not women. Each half supports the other, having interdependent strengths that balance the whole. If you think you could replace them, keep dreaming, because you can’t be men, just as we can’t be women. No matter how hard you rage and storm, no matter how badly you wish it, you can’t change that, nor should you, for attempts to do so have created man-children without virtue, who use women as objects, and women who’ve become ugly caricatures of men and allow themselves to be used and cheapened; the sexes alienated from one another in discord and hostility. In this attempt to deprive this world of a harmonious variety of form, it reduces everything to a tyrannical homogeneity and stamps upon the beauty and adventure of romance that has quickened us since the dawn of the human race.

So, stop and think. Look upon your fathers, husbands and brothers. Ponder what they do and what they’ve done with little thanks. See the patience that they’ve practiced. See the quiet strength that they’ve wielded in protecting you. See the vigilant eye that they’ve always had upon you in love. Love them. Cherish them. Step outside of yourselves see a world larger than you.

I Will Never Leave Thee

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5)

This marvelous promise of security ought to serve to strengthen us in the face of any and all opposition. Our trust is in the Lord and His promises, in stark contrast to the preceding admonition to let our mindset "be without covetousness; and |to| be content with such things as |we| have."

A covetous spirit actually breaks the last of the ten commandments, and this warning tells us that such a spirit can afflict a Christian if he allows himself to become discontented with God's provision. The presence of God is far more precious than material possessions, and this should be enough.

Actually, the promise is even more emphatic in the original Greek. The word "leave," which means to uphold or sustain, is preceded by a twice-repeated negative. It literally means, "I will not, I will not cease to uphold you!" The word "forsake" implies forsaking one in a position of hopelessness, and it is preceded by a thrice-repeated negative: "I'll never, never, never abandon you in a hopeless state!"

Furthermore, this is a personal promise from Christ Jesus. The phrase, "He hath said," is in an intensive mode in Greek and could rightly be translated, "He, himself, hath said." Our Lord stakes His reputation on His ability to provide us security. No wonder "we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Hebrews 13:6). The last verse from the grand hymn, "How Firm a Foundation," now takes on new meaning.

The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I will not desert to his foes.
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake
I'll never, no never, no never forsake.

Carbon "Cap & Traitors"

Well, thanks to our illustrious House Speaker, carbon cap & trade is set to come up for another "under the radar," "Quickly, so they won't notice!" vote supposedly this week. This is the most inherently wrong type of legislation that has hit the Congress in many a decade. If this bill gets through the House and Senate and gets signed into law, it'll cost everyone nearly $3700 per year more just for utility bills, not to mention gasoline prices and everything that has or exudes co2 or co.

They even want to tax farmers depending on the type and number of livestock, presumably because of the animal's flatulence. The only flatulence going on around here is what's coming from Capital Hill!

Ex-VP Al Gore has/will get filthy rich from his ties to the bill and related industries. General Electric will become the largest reaper of benefits from all this because of promises made because of campaign moneys donated to BHO.

I urge any and all readers to call their Representatives (if indeed they are our representatives anymore) and tell them emphatically NO more of this baloney!

Happy Father's Day

The Glory of the Children
June 21, 2009

"|The| glory of children are their fathers." (Proverbs 17:6)

Most Christian men are aware of the familiar exhortation to bring up their children "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4) and the warning "Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged" (Colossians 3:21). Biblical messages to fathers frequently reflect the very real societal need for family discipline and godly leadership in the home (Proverbs 22:6, 15; Genesis 18:19).

Our text is a bit different. Although the message certainly implies godly leadership, the immediate focus is on the children. Children, we are told, receive "glory" from their fathers! How is this to come about?

Glory, in the biblical sense, centers on the value, the worthiness, or the reputation of the person or event so recognized. For instance, the Scripture teaches that the Lord Jesus "shall come in the glory of his Father" (Matthew 16:27; Mark 8:38; etc.), and that the reputation of God the Father was conferred on Christ Jesus: "For he received from God the Father honour and glory" (2 Peter 1:17).

So, fathers, please learn this critical principle. Your reputation is reflected onto your children. Your behavior in the workplace is assumed to be an indicator of your children's potential. What you say or do in moments of unguarded or uncontrolled passion will pass on to your children--for good or ill. The common saying "like father, like son" is recognized across time and culture as an accurate measure of human existence.

The Lord insists that "the iniquity of the fathers" will be passed "upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation" (Exodus 34:7). Would it not be far better that your children receive glory from your righteous life than shame (Psalm 89:45) from your iniquity?

An Open Letter to Glenn Beck from a Woman in Arizona

GLENN: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona. She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership: I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

45 Goals for a Communist Takeover of America

On Jan. 10, 1963, Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read a list of 45 Communist goals into the Congressional Record. The list was derived from researcher Cleon Skousen’s book “The Naked Communist.” These principles are well worth revisiting today in order to gain insights into the thinking and strategies of much of our so-called liberal elite:

1. U.S. should accept coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. should be willing to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. [Note: These encapsulate the Kennan Doctrine, which advocated for the "containment" of communism. Establishment figures supporting the amoral containment policy at least implicitly worked with the communists in scaring the wits out of the American people concerning atomic war. President Ronald Reagan undid the doctrine when he took an aggressive stand against the Evil Empire by backing freedom fighters from around the world that were struggling against the left-wing communist jackboot. As a result, the Soviet Union and its satellites imploded, a considerable and unexpected setback to the international communist edifice.]

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of "moral strength." [Note: The nuclear freeze advocates supported a freeze on American nuclear development only. Rarely were Soviet nukes or those of other nations mentioned in their self-righteous tirades. The same advocates now call for reducing American military might, claiming that there is something immoral about America preserving its military pre-eminence in the world.]

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. [Note: Today, there are calls to end the embargo on the slave island of Cuba, there were complaints about the embargo against Iraq, and the U.S., not Saddam Hussein, was blamed for the suffering of the Iraqi people. Would they have advocated for free trade with Hitler and his National Socialist regime?]

5. Extend long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination. [Note: Such aid and trade over decades contributed greatly to the left-wing communist liquidation of over 100 million people worldwide, according to the well-documented "Black Book of Communism." This aid and trade marks a shameful chapter in American history. Without the aid and trade, the left-wing international communist behemoth would have imploded on its own rot a lot sooner and umpteen millions would have been saved from poverty, misery, starvation and death.]

7. Grant recognition of Red China and admission of Red China to the U.N. [Note: Not only did President Jimmy Carter fulfill this goal but he also betrayed America’s allies in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Iran, Afghanistan, Angola and elsewhere.]

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the Germany question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the U.S. has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. [Note: There are still American intellectuals, and elected members of Congress, who dream of an eventual one world government and who view the U.N., founded by communists such as Alger Hiss, the first secretary-general, as the instrument to bring this about. World government was also the dream of Adolf Hitler and J.V. Stalin. World government was the dream of Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 hijackers.]

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. [Note: While the idea of banning any political party runs contrary to notions of American freedom and liberty, notions that are the exact opposite of those held by the left-wing communists themselves, nevertheless these goals sought to undermine the constitutional obligation of Congress to investigate subversion. The weakening of our government’s ability to conduct such investigations led to the attack of 9/11.]

13. Do away with loyalty oaths. [Note: It is entirely proper and appropriate for our government to expect employees, paid by the American taxpayer, to take an oath of loyalty.]

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S. [Note: In his book, "Reagan’s War," Peter Schweizer demonstrates the astonishing degree to which communists and communist sympathizers have penetrated the Democratic Party. In his book, Schweizer writes about the presidential election of 1979.]

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights. [Note: This strategy goes back to the founding of the American Civil Liberties Union by Fabian Socialists Roger Baldwin and John Dewey and Communists William Z. Foster and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn among others.]

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack. [Note:The success of these goals, from a communist perspective, is obvious. Is there any doubt this is so?]

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings," substituting shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. " Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV. [Note: This is the Gramscian agenda of the "long march through the institutions" spelled out explicitly: gradual takeover of the "means of communication" and then using those vehicles to debauch the culture and weaken the will of the individual to resist.]

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy." [Note: Today those few who still have the courage to advocate public morality are denounced and viciously attacked. Most Americans are entirely unwitting regarding the motives behind this agenda.]

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." [Note: This has been largely accomplished through the communist infiltration of the National Council of Churches, Conservative and Reform Judaism, and the Catholic seminaries.]

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state"

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. [Note: Obliterating the American past, with its antecedents in principles of freedom, liberty and private ownership is a major goal of the communists then and now.]

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat. [Note: The Soviets used to send "social misfits" and those deemed politically incorrect to massive mental institutions called gulags. The Red Chinese call them lao gai. Hitler called them concentration camps.]

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose communist goals. [Note: Psychiatry remains a bulwark of the communist agenda of fostering self-criticism and docility.]

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. [Note: Done! The sovereign family is the single most powerful obstacle to authoritarian control.]

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. [Note: Outcome-based education, values clarification or whatever they’re calling it this year.]

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and make a "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems. [Note: This describes the dialectical fostering of group consciousness and conflict, which furthers the interests of authoritarianism.]

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. [Thank you, Jimmy Carter.]

45. Repeal the Connally Reservation so the U.S. cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.
_______________________________________________________
Personal Note: Some of these items which pertain to the former Soviet Union are thus null and void; however modern Russia is not to be counted down and out. Also, ask yourself how many of these things have already been accomplished. Then look at the rush that Congresswoman Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid, and Pres. Obama are in to push so quickly, so many socialist procedural things down the throats of Americans with nary a vote and, for the most part, no Congressional representation. Not to mention the general silence from the Supreme Court on the Constitutionality of most, if not all of it. Also, think about ACORN and Obama! And while you're investigating, look at the National Education Association, The National Endowment For the Arts, and the Democratic Party.

Flag Day

Happy Flag Day! Pray for our country that God will turn this all for His good. Remember that our God is stronger than their god! (emphasis on the capital letter.)

Global Warming? Naaa-Just Hype!

After doing a relatively exhaustive study of global warming and all the hype surrounding it, miraculously it has been found to be just that---Hype! I know. You all knew this already. Even NASA has done some studies that indicate this, though they are reluctant (go figure) to release all the details in press releases, you can go to their website and read up on the details.

I've done my own study right here from "Hotair Central" and checked most, if not all the record high temperatures for the Las Vegas valley since recording of temperatures was begun in the area. I found that pretty much most of the record highs in this area happened during the 1930s and up into the 1940s. Record lows happened mostly from the late 1940s into the early to mid 1950s. Some occasional exceptions were evident, but not significant to mention here. The local TV News stations seem hardput to tell the truth on this, stating that it's been much hotter here in the last decade than times prior. My findings, and the mere, insignificant fact that I live here and have worked outdoors for most of the 23+ years I've been here, have shown that the Vegas area is, in fact, on a cooling trend with more snow in winter and milder summers than in prior decades.

Call your Senators and Congressmen and fill them in on this and tell them that Carbon Cap & Trade and all the "green" projects that will continue to raise our energy costs through the roof, and grow government to massive proportions, and are "TOO MUCH" and the baloney needs to stop!

Send Al Gore back where he came from on a hang glider instead of that massive "carbon emitting" blimp (hot gas filled bag) of an airplane he bought off the backs of the idiots that believe his garbage! Language cleaned for the sake of the reader.

Nationalized Healthcare

If you want to see nationalized healthcare in action talk to Canadians and the British to find out how bad it is. I've known Canadians to come to the U.S. for major ailments because of two year plus waiting lists for life or death surgery.

If we get nationalized healthcare, think about how many Canadians it'll kill!

Answer to Criticisms of Specific Church Denominations

Main point is that there are good Christian Churches of all denominations and bad Christian Churches of all denominations. You can’t label all the Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, Nazarenes, etc. bad because of one bad circumstance. I’m a Southern Baptist, but a Christian first. If a Church preaches and teaches the truth of the Gospel of Christ, it’s name doesn’t matter. The mattering is in the message. Hot button issues have become a devisive measure used by Satan to lessen the effects of the true Gospel to the lost world out there. When the Christians are infighting, it becomes fodder for the left and any other group who wishes to climb on board and say, “See, even the Christians can’t get their act together on this issue, or that issue.” While we debate among ourselves on issues not directly related to the truth of the Gospel of Christ, the whole world is out there thinking, "why become a Christian because they’re obviously more messed up than are we?" The message of the Gospel is the only reason a Church should have for it’s existence. Once the message is gone or polluted, the individual Church becomes a meaningless entity.

We Are A Christian nation

America's Finest!

The Muslim World, by Mark Steyn on NRO

As recently as last summer, General Motors filing for bankruptcy would have been the biggest news story of the week. But it’s not such a very great step from the unthinkable to the inevitable, and by the time it actually happened the market barely noticed and the media were focused on the president’s “address to the Muslim world.” As it happens, these two stories are the same story: snapshots, at home and abroad, of the hyperpower in eclipse. It’s a long time since anyone touted GM as the emblematic brand of America — What’s good for GM is good for America, etc. In fact, it’s more emblematic than ever: Like General Motors, the U.S. government spends more than it makes, and has airily committed itself to ever more unsustainable levels of benefits. GM has about 95,000 workers but provides health benefits to a million people: It’s not a business enterprise, but a vast welfare plan with a tiny loss-making commercial sector. As GM goes, so goes America?

But who cares? Overseas, the coolest president in history was giving a speech. Or, as the official press release headlined it on the State Department website, “President Obama Speaks to the Muslim World from Cairo.”

Let’s pause right there: It’s interesting how easily the words “the Muslim world” roll off the tongues of liberal secular progressives who’d choke on any equivalent reference to “the Christian world.” When such hyper-alert policemen of the perimeter between church and state endorse the former but not the latter, they’re implicitly acknowledging that Islam is not merely a faith but a political project, too. There is an “Organization of the Islamic Conference,” which is already the largest single voting bloc at the U.N. and is still adding new members. Imagine if someone proposed an “Organization of the Christian Conference” that would hold summits attended by prime ministers and presidents, and vote as a bloc in transnational bodies. But, of course, there is no “Christian world”: Europe is largely post-Christian and, as President Obama bizarrely asserted to a European interviewer last week, America is “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” Perhaps we’re eligible for membership in the OIC.

I suppose the benign interpretation is that, as head of state of the last superpower, Obama is indulging in a little harmless condescension. In his Cairo speech, he congratulated Muslims on inventing algebra and quoted approvingly one of the less bloodcurdling sections of the Koran. As socio-historical scholarship goes, I found myself recalling that moment in the long twilight of the Habsburg Empire when Crown Prince Rudolph and his mistress were found dead at the royal hunting lodge at Mayerling — either a double suicide, or something even more sinister. Happily, in the Broadway musical version, instead of being found dead, the star-crossed lovers emigrate to America and settle down on a farm in Pennsylvania. Recently, my old comrade Stephen Fry gave an amusing lecture at the Royal Geographical Society in London on the popular Americanism “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” — or, if something’s bitter and hard to swallow, add sugar and sell it. That’s what the president did with Islam: He added sugar and sold it.

The speech nevertheless impressed many conservatives, including Rich Lowry, my esteemed editor at National Review, “esteemed editor” being the sort of thing one says before booting the boss in the crotch. Rich thought that the president succeeded in his principal task: “Fundamentally, Obama's goal was to tell the Muslim world, ‘We respect and value you, your religion and your civilization, and only ask that you don’t hate us and murder us in return.’” But those terms are too narrow. You don’t have to murder a guy if he preemptively surrenders. And you don’t even have to hate him if you’re too busy despising him. The savvier Muslim potentates have no desire to be sitting in a smelly cave in the Hindu Kush sharing a latrine with a dozen halfwitted goatherds while plotting how to blow up the Empire State Building. Nevertheless, they share key goals with the cave dwellers — including the wish to expand the boundaries of “the Muslim world” and (as in the anti-blasphemy push at the U.N.) to place Islam, globally, beyond criticism. The non-terrorist advance of Islam is a significant challenge to western notions of liberty and pluralism.

Once Obama moved on from the more generalized Islamoschmoozing to the details, the subtext — the absence of American will — became explicit. He used the cover of multilateralism and moral equivalence to communicate, consistently, American weakness: “No single nation should pick and choose which nations hold nuclear weapons.” Perhaps by “no single nation” he means the “global community” should pick and choose, which means the U.N. Security Council, which means the Big Five, which means that Russia and China will pursue their own murky interests and that, in the absence of American leadership, Britain and France will reach their accommodations with a nuclear Iran, a nuclear North Korea, and any other psycho-state minded to join them.

On the other hand, a “single nation” certainly has the right to tell another nation anything it wants if that nation happens to be the Zionist Entity: As Hillary Clinton just instructed Israel re its West Bank communities, there has to be “a stop to settlements — not some settlements, not outposts, not natural-growth exceptions.” No “natural growth”? You mean, if you and the missus have a kid, you’ve got to talk gran’ma into moving out? To Tel Aviv, or Brooklyn, or wherever? At a stroke, the administration has endorsed “the Muslim world”’s view of those non-Muslims who happen to find themselves within what it regards as lands belonging to Islam: The Jewish and Christian communities are free to stand still or shrink, but not to grow. Would Obama be comfortable mandating “no natural growth” to Israel’s million-and-a-half Muslims? No. But the administration has embraced the “the Muslim world”’s commitment to one-way multiculturalism, whereby Islam expands in the west but Christianity and Judaism shrivel remorselessly in the Middle East.

And so it goes. Like General Motors, America is “too big to fail.” So it won’t, not immediately. It will linger on in a twilight existence sclerotic and ineffectual, declining unto a kind of societal dementia, unable to keep pace with what’s happening and with an ever more tenuous grip on its own past, but able on occasion to throw out impressive words albeit strung together without much meaning: empower, peace, justice, prosperity — just to take one windy gust from the president’s Cairo speech.

There’s better phrase-making in the current issue of Foreign Affairs, in a coinage of Leslie Gelb, president emeritus of the Committee on Foreign Relations. The president emeritus is a sober, judicious paragon of torpidly conventional wisdom. Nevertheless, musing on American decline, he writes, “The country's economy, infrastructure, public schools, and political system have been allowed to deteriorate. The result has been diminished economic strength, a less vital democracy, and a mediocrity of spirit.” That last is the one to watch: A great power can survive a lot of things, but not “a mediocrity of spirit.” A wealthy nation living on the accumulated cultural capital of a glorious past can dodge its rendezvous with fate, but only for a while. That sound you heard in Cairo is the tingy ping of a hollow superpower.

Men as Heroes?

I’m sure we all realize that all this downplay in the role of the male in society and fathers in particular is a direct swipe at God and His Kingdom. The secular world has no need for strong spiritual masculine types. Men are supposed to be the spritual leaders in their families and in society in general. The structure of the family as a whole is supposed to be a picture of the loving Father, the Lord Jesus, and all the body of Christian believers. The more society moves away from God, the further down the rung fathers slip.

This has had an obvious adverse effect on Christian men too. When I first became a Christian in the dark ages of 1972, I often wondered why there were so many, what I called at the time, “church widows.” Not widows in the common sense of the term, but those with or without children and good fully functional husbands who never darkened the doors of the church, except to sometimes drop off the wife and kiddos at Church or Sunday School. The usual excuse for his absense would have been the beautiful golf weather or the “man the football game starts five minutes before the sermon’s supposed go on.” Generally from what I’ve seen and heard, somewhere along the line, the Pastor had struck a nerve with dad and ticked him off so bad that, “I’ll never darken the doors of that place again because he said something I don’t like.” At that point, Satan had made an ally out of dear old dad, and headed the entire family down a path to destruction.

After all is said and done, I believe that this is what homosexuality and the women’s lib movements have done for America, and the coffin nails of gay marriage will finish it off. Thanks to all the “diversions” mentioned in Floyd’s post, America is ripe for what is now taking place in Washington, D.C. For you see my friends, we men have allowed all this to happen, and our country is being lost with nary any sound at all, but a whimper!

This is what has happened to all of America’s heroes. They/we have relinquished the title willingly for a few of the pleasures of this world, with nary a thought for the pleasures of the next. My dad was not perfect, but did take us “with him” to Church and Sunday School. I myself spent some time away from God on an excursion I shant go into here. At that point I gave up my claim as the family “hero.” I eventually came to my senses, albeit later rather than sooner, but it’s never too late if one is still able to think and breath. And I discovered that God and my family were forgiving and receiving, much as in Jesus' sermon of the “Prodigal Son.
